AMD ANNOUNCES DATES, SPEAKERS AND AGENDA FOR THE FIRST AMD GLOBAL VISION CONFERENCE

-Event to feature analysis, commentary and forecasts from top business and technology thought leaders-
SUNNYVALE, CA -- September 20, 2005 -- AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced
dates and the final agenda for the long-anticipated Global Vision
Conference - the first event of its kind in which senior business
leaders and technology visionaries from around the world come together
to discuss the role technology plays in modern society and how
technological trends are likely to evolve over the next decade.

The invitation-only event is scheduled for October 5 - 7, 2005 in Miami
Beach, FL, and will feature addresses and panel discussions by some of
the world's most respected names in business and technology: Dreamworks
founder and CEO, Jeffrey Katzenberg, will deliver the keynote address;
and Technology visionaries Paul Saffo, director and Roy Amara fellow,
Institute for the Future, and Dr. Allen Hammond, vice president for
innovation and special projects at the World Resources Institute, will
each serve as moderator for a day and will lead several discussions.

"This is a unique conference," Saffo said. "It is a forum for the AMD
community to consider not just immediate technology trends and their
business impacts, but also to explore the larger, longer-term surprises
that technological innovation presents for society at large."

"Our customers and partners are interested in two things - innovation
and societal impact," said Hector Ruiz, chairman, president and CEO of
AMD. "By gathering this elite audience together, we hope to not only
offer insight on new technologies and best practices, but also to
provide new ideas for new technologies that can have a positive effect
on the world."

In addition to addresses from Katzenberg, Saffo, Hammond and Ruiz, the

companies face in providing technology to people in developing markets
around the world.

"Bringing technology to bear on the problems of low-income communities
is fast becoming a key area of focus for business leaders around the
world, but they need a model to follow," Hammond said. "Through its
50x15 initiative, AMD is steadfastly moving the industry toward a new
approach, one designed specifically to understand and address the needs
of people in emerging markets. All of this and more will form the basis
for our examination of the role technology can play in helping people in
