FORD'S ALAN MULALLY TO KEYNOTE 2011 INTERNATIONAL CES

Mulally Joins Microsoft's Steve Ballmer, Verizon's Ivan Seidenberg, Samsung's Boo-Keun Yoon and Audi's Rupert Stadler as 2011 CES Keynote Speakers
Arlington, Va., October 7, 2010 – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced today that Alan Mulally, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company, will deliver a keynote address at the 2011 International CES®. Owned and produced by CEA, the 2011 International CES, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow, will be held January 6-9, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Alan has been instrumental in Ford's leadership in the automotive industry and its success in a challenging economy," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA. "Ford constantly innovates and launches new technologies, like SYNC with speech recognition, that make the driving experience safer through technology. Mulally will deliver his third CES keynote address at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011, in the Las Vegas Hilton Center.

In 2006, Mulally joined Ford, after serving as executive vice president of The Boeing Company and president and chief executive officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. He is known for his innovative and focused leadership, while working to transform Ford into a lean, global enterprise. He has served as a past president of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and is a former president of its Foundation. Additionally, Mulally served as a past chairman of the Board of Governors of the Aerospace Industries Association. He was named to Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in 2009, "Person of the Year" in 2006 by Aviation Week magazine and one of "The Best Leaders of 2005" by BusinessWeek magazine.

The Ford keynote will anchor CES' comprehensive in-vehicle technology display at the 2011 CES. Electric vehicles are quickly gaining popularity among consumers and will be featured in CES' Electric Vehicle TechZone. The Safe Driver TechZone will return to the show floor highlighting technologies that assist in auto collision avoidance, lane drift assistance, parking, speed monitoring, hands-free, text-to-voice, driver drowsiness detection and more. The Location Based Services TechZone is also returning as the premier spot for providers of current location based custom technologies in both portable and in-car navigation devices.
