MSI's MOA 2011 Qualifying Selections and Theme Revealed!
[Taipei-Taiwan] Overclockers get ready to lock and load: MSI's annual Master Overclocking Arena (MOA) is coming! The best overclockers from the Americas will all compete for a chance for victory and total domination!
The winning theme of the event was selected from hundreds of submissions and has been decided to be based on various Military Operations around the globe. With MOA becoming a battleground for dominance, the Americas qualifier has been codenamed Operation: Las Vegas – where it will be held on January 6th during the CES (Consumer Electronics Show), the largest event held in North America to showcase the latest technology.
MOA 2011 (Master Overclocking Arena) – Operation: Las Vegas will be broadcast online and have full media coverage, live from CES on January 6, 2011. The pre-qualifying round took place on world-famous overclocking website, HWBot.org, to select the soldiers for this operation. The pre-selection divided into total 5 groups under the mainboard and graphics card categories.
• Mainboard –X58 mainboards: contestants conduct SuperPI 32M with MSI’s X58 mainboards.
• Mainboard – H55/H57 IGP Overclocking: contestants conduct 3DMark Vantage with IGPs of H55/H57 mainboards from MSI.
• Mainboard – LGA1156 mainboards: contestants participate with MSI’s P55/H55/H57 mainboards using 3DMark2001.
• Graphics card – ATI R5000 series: contestants compete with MSI R5000 series graphics cards and 3DMark Vantage.
• Graphics card – NVIDIA N400 series: contestants compete with the MSI N400 series, also with the same benchmarking suite.
Two winners from each stage were selected in the online pre-selection. These elite soldiers will make up the participants of the Americas qualifier and earn a chance to head to Grand Finals in Taipei, Taiwan and win the ultimate prize!
