AMD UNVEILS COMMERCIAL CHANNEL PROGRAM ENHANCING AND EXTENDING CHANNEL INITIATIVES WORLDWIDE

- Program Promotes Innovation and Collaboration to Create Joint Business Opportunities that Deliver Customer Value -
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Oct. 24, 2005 - AMD (NYSE:AMD) today introduced the
AMD Commercial Channel Access Program to enhance and extend the
company's commitment to partners' business needs and contribute to their
continued growth and success in the commercial market. The program is
designed to foster an environment of collaboration and innovation within
the growing worldwide AMD64 ecosystem of systems integrators,
value-added resellers (VARs) and distributors. It is designed to
deliver benefits to participants by helping them gain access to and
develop solutions for the increasing number of customers now looking to
deploy AMD Opteron(tm) processor-based platforms and provide tangible
value through these solutions tailored to best address the needs of
their end customers.

"The launch of the Commercial Channel Access Program reinforces AMD's
goal of meeting the needs of end customers through the delivery of
highly targeted, market-relevant solutions," said Kevin Knox, vice
president, Worldwide Commercial Business, AMD. "AMD's robust channel
program has been a cornerstone of our business for decades and today's
announcement marks another milestone in our commitment to
customer-centric innovation and to the many long-standing and successful
relationships we enjoy with our expanding network of channel customers.
By leveraging a strong collaborative model, we will be able to extend
our reach into new commercial markets to deliver innovative joint AMD64
processor-based solutions."

The Commercial Channel Access Program more specifically provides:
Web-based self-service access to resources and education through the AMD
Access Portal, distributed channel communications including newsletters
and alerts, AMD product information, white paper and success story
templates, partner solution registration, joint customer solution
pilots, channel-specific marketing support, access to the AMD business
development team, field-based channel account managers (where
applicable), opportunities to collaborate with AMD and its ISV
communities, as well as AMD-supported campaigns to help build awareness.
AMD will also be offering membership in a newly formed AMD Commercial
Channel Council where participants will share their views and can gain
early insights into AMD plans and access to executives.

A core supporting component of the program is the Web portal that is
designed to allow access to tools, information, training and practical
help in multiple languages around the clock. This is intended to help
participants bring AMD64 processor technology to market quickly and
provide a high level of service to their customers. Access to demo units
for evaluation and sales opportunities will be also available via this
route.

The flexible, dynamic program is built on the core tenets of listening
to customers and responding to the fast-changing needs of customers. By
doing so, AMD can direct services and resources to worldwide channel
partners, help identify new solutions opportunities and coordinate
channel activities to build upon the strengths of AMD's original
equipment manufacturer (OEM) relationships to create shared successes.

The Commercial Channel Access Program is expected to expand its member
support over the coming months with a wide variety of programs such as
specialized technical support, information resources to help keep
members up to date on the latest technology news and extensive tool kits
for co-marketing the newly developed solutions. The program will also
help drive benefits for end-user commercial customers as solutions
briefs become readily available to help them determine the most
effective solution to solve their business challenges.

Support for Commercial Channel Access Program
The AMD Commercial Channel Access Program builds on the company's strong
relationships, and to date, more than 20 solutions and campaigns have
already been staffed and funded by AMD with more than 15 different
systems integrators, VARs and distributors participating in the program.
Inaugural participants include Avnet Computing Components, CDW, Ciber IT
Operations Services, Continental Resources, EDS, En Pointe Technologies,
Forsythe Solutions Group, Inc., GTSI Corp., Ingram Micro Inc., Insight

"As the demand to share electronic resources with customers and
partners grows, businesses and government organizations are increasingly
relying on more powerful processors that won't overheat," said CDW's
Scott Detota, director, Product Management. "We're responding to these
needs by making a
variety of AMD64 technology-based products easily accessible to our
customers to help them improve computing performance and availability."

"EDS recognizes the tremendous importance of forging strong
relationships in the IT industry. Our collaboration with Sun
Microsystems and Sun's partner, AMD, to offer Virtual Server Services,
which runs on Sun servers powered by AMD Opteron(tm) processors, is
built on a true commitment to bringing ground-breaking technology to our
clients," said Larry Lozon, vice president, Data Center Services, EDS.

"AMD's dual-core processor and HyperTransport(tm) technology offer
significant value to solution providers," said Mark Demeo, senior vice
president, Consulting and Infrastructure, Pomeroy IT Solutions, Inc., a
national solutions provider whose services include: outsourcing,
application development, systems integration and other maintenance and
support services. "We are able to architect solutions that protect our
customers' investments by improving scalability, performance and energy
efficiency. As a result, our solutions help customers maximize their IT
investments and re-invest in their core businesses."

"The AMD Commercial Channel Access Program helps enable partners to get
technology to market faster and bring even more value to customers,"
said Pete Peterson, vice president, Systems Product Marketing, Tech Data
Corporation. "As a leading provider of IT products and solutions, Tech
Data has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with AMD and is dedicated
to developing even more joint business opportunities that leverage the
portfolio of AMD64 technology-based solutions from major OEMs."

AMD expects to roll out new features to the portal over the next several
months. The AMD Commercial Channel Access Program is available to new
and existing channel customers in North America and Europe and later in
other regions of the world. For more information on the AMD Commercial
