Fusion-io Doubles its Offering of Fusion Powered IBM High IOPS Adapters to Include New Products up to 1.28 TB
SALT LAKE CITY– March 1, 2011 – Fusion-io announced today that IBM will now offer eight versions of High IOPS Adapters based on Fusion’s ioMemory technology for deployment in its System x Server line.

In addition, 12 IBM System x servers are now qualified for Fusion Powered IBM products, greatly increasing IBM customers’ options for integrating the new class of server-attached NAND Flash developed by Fusion-io into their architectures. All High IOPS Adapters will feature IBM’s world-class support.

“As data demands continue to exponentially grow in the enterprise, Fusion’s innovative server-deployed memory solutions can offer our customers a way to significantly and safely accelerate their database and application infrastructure,” said Bob Galush, IBM’s VP System x High Volume Servers and Options.

The IBM High IOPS Adapters will now be available in eight different models as part of new System x server deployments or as an option to add to existing servers. In addition to the four models already available, IBM now offers its High IOPS Adapters in 640GB MLC, 320GB SLC, 640GB SLC Duo and 1.28T MLC Duo formats for the System x server line.

IBM has also qualified for several new System x servers for use with the High IOPS Adapters, including the BladeCenter HX5.

In addition, the Fusion Powered High IOPS Adapter ships as an option in the IBM Smart Analytics System 5600; Fusion Powered technology comes standard in the IBM WebSphere DataPower XC10.

“As IBM is one of the most forward-thinking, innovative companies in the industry, Fusion-io is excited to be collaborating with the IBM team to address the data supply problem that has stubbornly kept processor utilization at less than 20 percent in the data center,” said Neil Carson, CTO of Fusion-io. “Known for consistently delivering innovative and efficient solutions, IBM’s world-class engineers have found impressive ways to improve the capabilities of ioMemory in order to bring their customers high levels of enterprise-class performance and reliability for enterprise applications, database acceleration, virtualization and cloud computing environments.”

The new IBM High IOPS adapters will be available to order on March 1, 2011. To learn more about the offerings, go to:
