AMD To Preview "Giving Voices: The Haiti Project" at Sony Creative Software NAB Users Event 2011

— Event to preview new web series that demonstrates how AMD and Sony enable Haitian film students to tell them own stories —

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — Apr. 11 2011

What:

AMD will preview the “Giving Voices: The Haiti Project" at the Sony Creative Software NAB Users Event 2011 (http://vasst.com/nab2011.aspx). The 11th annual Sony Creative Software Users event offers attendees of the NAB Show (http://www.nabshow.com/2011/index.asp) an opportunity to learn about the unique ways that Sony Creative Software is implemented. AMD supports Sony Vegas Pro editing software with AMD processors and graphics products.

Who:

Charlie Boswell, Director of Digital Entertainment, AMD:

Charlie works directly with leading entertainment industry innovators and content creators such as Star Wars producer Rick McCallum at Lucas Film and director Robert Rodriguez at Troublemaker Studios. Prior to Haiti, Charlie spoke at the Abu Dhabi Media Summit 2011 alongside James Cameron. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGcyyTZfXTE

Justin Fornal, Filmmaker:

Returning to the Sony Creative Software Users Event for the second time, Justin's hit TV show "Bronx Flavor" featuring Justin as his alter-ego Baron Ambrosia has been picked up for another season. A Sony Vegas Pro user for almost ten years, Justin continues to rely on the video editing software for all his film and TV productions. Along with Charlie, he'll discuss his latest Sony Vegas Pro project, "Giving Voices."

Why:

Charlie will discuss and premier a trailer from "Giving Voices," an upcoming episodic web series with Justin. Both AMD's and Charlie’s mission is to protect the digital artist from slow and otherwise non-intuitive technology so humanity can remain in charge. Charlie and Justin travelled to Le Cine Institute in Jacmel, Haiti, where they provided students with the AMD processors and graphics hardware along with Sony Vegas Pro software needed to tell their individual stories of Haiti's rebirth.
