SRS Labs and ASUS Expand Partnership to Deliver Exceptional Audio Performance on EeePad Media Tablet
Featuring SRS Sound, ASUS’ EeePad Delivers an Impressive Audio Experience for Users On-the-Go
SANTA ANA, Calif., May 11, 2011 – SRS Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ: SRSL), officially recognized as one of America’s Greatest Brands and the industry leader in surround sound, audio and voice technologies, today announced ASUS, one of the world’s top consumer notebook vendors, has incorporated SRS Sound™ within their first media tablet, the EeePad Transformer, delivering an exhilarating audio experience on-the-go for movies, music and games. The ASUS EeePad Transformer is also the first Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) powered device to ship with SRS Sound.

“ASUS is a long-time licensee of SRS audio technologies and we are excited to expand our relationship further by incorporating our SRS Sound audio enhancement solution on their first media tablet,” said Allen H. Gharapetian, Vice President of Marketing for SRS Labs. “In today’s society on the go, consumers expect their tablets to function as mobile multimedia hubs, demanding the highest-quality entertainment experience – anytime, anywhere. With the integration of SRS Sound, ASUS EeePad Transformer users will enjoy their favorite movies, games and music with extraordinary depth, enhanced bass and high fidelity definition.”

SRS Sound is comprised of several SRS patented audio technologies that, when combined, deliver a notably more natural audio experience from the built-in speakers or headphones. SRS Sound retrieves subtle audio cues lost during compression so that multimedia content sounds closer to the way it was originally intended. Through this solution, heavily compressed files such as AVI, MOV, MP3, AAC and WAV are optimized to provide more immersive surround sound, improved bass, greater high-frequency clarity and benefit from an elevated soundstage.

“Media tablets have become consumers’ go-to devices for mobile entertainment; and sound quality is considered to be an integral part of the tablet’s overall design,” said Samson Hu, Corporate Vice President and GM of Eee Tablet Business Unit for ASUS. “When choosing a solution that would provide the best audio experience, SRS Sound was the logical choice, building upon the success of our EeePC netbook line featuring SRS. As such, consumers can be confident that they are receiving the best possible audio performance from their ASUS Eee Pad Transformer.”

ASUS’ EeePad Transformer media tablet featuring SRS Sound is currently available online, as well as from select retailers worldwide. For more information about this announcement, SRS or our technologies, please contact us at [email protected] or visit us on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
