GLOBALFOUNDRIES Names New Head of Global Corporate Communications

Kevin Kimball joins company as Vice President of Global Corporate Communications
MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today GLOBALFOUNDRIES announced the appointment of Kevin Kimball as vice president of Global Corporate Communications. Kimball will report to GLOBALFOUNDRIES Chief Financial Officer Robert Krakauer as part of the company’s executive leadership team and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Silicon Valley. In this role, Kimball will support the company’s growing global operations and lead the strategic development of the company’s global corporate communications organization.

“Kevin will be a great asset to GLOBALFOUNDRIES and the global communications team,” said Robert Krakauer, CFO, GLOBALFOUNDRIES. “His extensive global communications experience and background in the semiconductor ecosystem will energize our communications strategy to enable GLOBALFOUNDRIES to be the leading global, independent semiconductor manufacturer, providing a range of customer-centric foundry services in a distributed network to leading-edge fabless and ‘fablite’ companies around the world. We are delighted to welcome him to our senior management team.”

Kimball brings more than 25 years of communications experience that includes leadership of global communications efforts at Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Cadence, VLSI/Philips Semiconductors, Siemens and GE. Most recently, Kimball managed global corporate communications at Force10 Networks, where he was responsible for public relations, including media and analyst relationships, as well as executive and internal communications.

A native of upstate New York, Kimball grew up in Saratoga County just a few miles from GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ newest manufacturing facility, Fab 8, which is currently being constructed in the Luther Forest Technology Campus.
