VIA Announces ARM Digital Signage System with Android Support

Taipei, Taiwan, 20 June, 2012 - VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator of power efficient computing platforms, today announced the VIA ARM DS (Digital Signage) system.

Thanks for this information. I would like to understand some more about digital signage systems. What kind of operation system is the best one for such systems? What are the advantages of Android over other OS? Thanks

There is no best operating system, just merely the one an organization is most comfortable using. Android is "free" and can run on the ARM platform used by this signage system.

When generally compared to x86 systems, ARM platforms running Android are cheaper, smaller, and consume less electricity - basically some of the same comparisons for comparing tablets to laptops.
