Mushkin Announces New XP2-5300-DDR2 3-3-3-10

Mushkin Announces New XP2-5300-DDR2 3-3-3-10
Denver, CO, January 13, 2006- Today Mushkin is pleased to announce our Xtreme Performance XP2-5300 3-3-3-10 modules. Immediately available at http://www.mushkin.com in 512MB and 1024MB modules, both as single 240-pin DIMM’s and in dual pack configurations. These modules are intended to provide the highest performance option for Intel DDR-2 motherboard applications, and eventually for AMD socket AM2 when released later this year.

Mushkin’s commitment to providing our end-users with the fastest memory options has pushed us to develop these high-performance DDR-2 memory modules in an effort to keep up with the reputation of our HP and XP DDR-1 product lineups. “Through our extensive testing of DDR-2 IC’s, we have found a great addition to our XP2 product lineup and we’re sure our customers will be immensely satisfied with this product,” says Brian Flood, head of Mushkin's product development.

The Mushkin XP2-5300 will be available as the following models:

991509- 512MB XP2-5300 DDR2 3-3-3
991510- 1GB XP2-5300 DDR2 3-3-3
991511- 1GB XP2-5300 DDR2 3-3-3 DUAL PACK (2X512MB)
991512- 2GB XP2-5300 DDR2 3-3-3 DUAL PACK (2X1GB)

By using latencies of 3-3-3-10 Mushkin is able to fill the gap between higher latency DDR-2 and the low latency performance PC end-users desire. Low latency is beneficial today for improved system and gaming performance. Mushkin’s Xtreme Performance memory series represents our fastest product group, offering both our highest speed/frequencies, but also our most overclockable parts. Power users and Gamers will be provided with one of the best low-latency production modules currently available, at a value we feel is unmatched. Overclockers should be similarly happy with the headroom these parts provide. Mushkin is very excited to be launching this part and look forward to the response from our end-users. Look for these memory modules to hit all major resellers, including Directron.com, by the end of January.

Now that statement in there that the maker states about the lower latcecy improveing game play is either a lie or the reviewers around the web stating it makes no differance is a lie.
which is it I no the ans. but its strange how so many intel reviews are being done at 5-5-5-15 04 4-4-4-12 timings . it really doesn't matter to me. because i know there is a differance . but when amd ddr2 comes out and they test at low latenancy . I will bring a class action law suite against those reviewers.

My new Intel 975X reference board HATES any CL3 timings and that is the only reason i ran 4-4-4 on it. The Intel 955X board ran 3-3-3 like a champ. Timings do make a small difference, but 3-4-4 versus 3-3-3 gives no change worth even noting. 4-4-4 to 3-3-3 at 667MHz and higher will show a difference. Anything under 667MHz is slow, so who cares about timings... upgrade to above 667MHz in that case!

DDR1 @ 2-2-2 timings rule, but I'll take my 1GHz of DDR2 at 4-4-4 any day over any DDR module... hehe

I was not referring to your review as i have seen the results your talking about but with DDR2 5400ul I do get better results at these timings than any other. I was a little confused why the performance was bad @3-3-3-12 setting .Thanks I thought I was doing something wrong . Now I was more miffed about AT testing @ 5-5-5-15 and there is a very nocticeable differance. When you do a review like that it would be helpful to your readers if you would mention what you said in your reply as I was confused but my own testing does back up what you state except when 3-2-2-8 timings are used.

My old 5400UL (the original batch) works great, but the newer DDR2 modules just don't have the same abilities as those first batches :(

okay I've been playing with the Mushkin 3-3-3-10 memory and can say that this stuff is impressive. I have the 2GB kit running on the Intel Bad Axe motherboard at 2.1 Volts at 3-3-3 timings. While these are high voltages they aren't bad for a 2GB kit...

Expect a review of the Mushkin versus Corsair's 5400UL this Friday.

How does overclocking from 667MHz @ 3-3-3 to 800MHz @ 3-3-3 sound?
