Opera Software and Naranya today announced a partnership that will bring mobile payment freedom to users of Naranya’s content offerings and the Opera Mini mobile browser.
As part of this agreement, Naranya, the leading mobile marketing & commerce company in Latin America, will be integrated into the Opera Payment Exchange (OPX), which makes mobile payments a secure and easy experience for 191 million users of the Opera Mini mobile browser globally. Opera Mini users will now be able to buy digital goods and services from Naranya’s portfolio easily and securely on their mobile devices through the Naranya Monetization Network and its direct carrier billing connections in 7 countries.
Opera Mini is one of the world’s leading mobile browsers with users on all mobile platforms. Combining Opera’s browsers for computers, TVs and connected devices, and Opera Mobile, the browser for high-end mobile devices, there are 270 million Opera users worldwide.
With over 500 million users connected to its Monetization Platform, Naranya enables game publishers, social networks, online media, app developers and other digital companies to monetize their digital goods and services seamlessly through direct carrier billing systems on a global scale. Naranya users are able to charge their purchases simply, securely and directly to their carrier bills.
“Naranya users spread across Latin America will be thrilled that they can now easily pay for games, and other content they love from Naranya on Opera Mini,” says Carlos Galván, COO, Naranya. “We are excited that we can offer our services to more users easily through this association with Opera.”
“Opera strives to work with partners like Naranya to strengthen the mobile-payment ecosystem for Opera Mini users through OPX,” adds Mahi de Silva, EVP, Consumer Mobile, Opera Software. “One by one, we want to partner with premium mobile content providers like Naranya to give the convenience of one-click purchasing to Opera Mini users.”
