Las Vegas, NV – January 6, 2013 – Griffin Technology, one of the world’s foremost creators of innovations for everyday life, and Catalyst, a lifestyle accessories brand catering to adventure enthusiasts, co-developed and manufactured the Survivor + Catalyst Waterproof Case for iPhone 5. The Survivor + Catalyst partnership unites Catalyst’s expertise in designing waterproof products with Griffin’s 20+ years of experience as one of the most established companies in the iOS accessory space, resulting in the best-in-class waterproof case.

“Griffin’s Survivor line has earned a reputation as the go-to brand in the protective case market,” said Mark Rowan, President of Griffin Technology. “Partnering with Catalyst to introduce the Survivor + Catalyst Waterproof Case further enhances our efforts to provide superior device protection, equipping users for anything life throws at them.”

“We’re thrilled to formally announce our partnership with Griffin and launch the Survivor + Catalyst Waterproof case at CES 2013,” said June Lai, CEO of Catalyst Lifestyle Ltd. “Catalyst has come a long way since the launch of the EscapeCapsule waterproof case on Kickstarter to a core group of design and tech enthusiasts who want to be able to go anywhere with their essential gear. As a young startup, our partnership with Griffin creates a stronger team with combined resources and expertise in the waterproof protective case market, and together we have designed, developed and manufactured one of the most technical waterproof products available today.”

Griffin’s original Survivor case is built to military standards and has become synonymous with extreme-duty protection for mobile devices, ready for everyday life and adventures. Since its introduction nearly two years ago Survivor has become Griffin’s best-selling protective case.

Today Griffin continues to lead the way in the protective case industry with the introduction of its Survivor + Catalyst Waterproof Case for iPhone 5, $79.99. Designed and built for freedom in and around water, Survivor + Catalyst Waterproof Case is designed to go whenever and wherever adventure calls. The case is waterproof to 9.8 feet deep (3 meters) and drop-tested to 6.6 feet (2 meters), while at the same time providing full access to all of the iPhone’s features. The ultra-rugged waterproof case protects iPhone 5 from the elements without sacrificing the ability to photograph, video, take calls, listen to audio and even plug in to recharge the iPhone battery. Button covers offer protection without limiting functionality and side latches secure the iPhone inside the watertight case. The crystal clear housing allows users to showcase their iPhone as well as permitting them to visually inspect the main o-ring seal for reliable waterproof protection. Adventurers can stay connected and capture special moments without hassle and be completely worry-free with Survivor + Catalyst Waterproof Case for iPhone 5, available late January 2013.

Also making its debut at CES is Griffin’s new Survivor Clear for iPhone 5, $29.99, a crystal-clear polycarbonate case that offers ultimate protection while displaying the beauty of the iPhone. Its tough, resilient TPE rubber on the edges and corners offer impact-protection where phones need it most. Sleek yet protective, Survivor Clear’s edges are molded for secure grip and open ports provide easy access to connectors and controls. Survivor Clear for iPhone 5 will be available March 2013.

These new Survivor offerings join the popular Survivor case lineup, which includes an assortment of cases providing various levels of protection and affordability. The original Survivor for iPhone 5, $49.99, and iPod touch, $39.99, is built on a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in rugged, shock-absorbing silicone. This mil-spec case is the most extreme duty, protective case in the Survivor range. Survivor Slim for iPhone 5, $39.99, and iPod touch, $29.99, is rugged yet slim enough to go everywhere, featuring a rigid polycarbonate frame surrounded in a durable, flexible silicone for grip and shock absorption. Survivor Skin for iPhone 5, $19.99, and iPod touch, $19.99, is a protective case made of tough, resilient silicone that absorbs impact and vibration.

Along with a wide array of protective cases, the Survivor lineup also includes the ultra-rugged Survivor AUX Cable, $19.99, designed to be the last AUX cable consumers will ever need. Survivor AUX is built with a heavy-duty nylon braided cable housed in a clear, protective Hex exterior. Pull-and-tug-resistant compression collars on the inside of the connectors make the 4-foot AUX audio cable resistant to failure due to pulling. Survivor AUX Cable features 1/8” (3.5 mm) stereo connectors and will be available February 2013 in black, red, blue, pink and citron.

The Survivor + Catalyst Waterproof Case for iPhone 5 and Survivor Clear Case for iPhone 5 will be featured along with Griffin’s comprehensive Survivor lineup at CES in LVCC North Hall, Booth 5212.
