Exanet Launches ExaStore Network-Attached Storage System

HERZLIYA, Israel – March 7, 2006 — Exanet, the leader in high-performance network-attached storage (NAS) solutions, today announced that its advanced ExaStore™ system will be the software component of a storage demo unit that will be on display at the Intel booth in the Intel Development Forum (IDF), opening March 7, 2006, in San Francisco. The ExaStore system, which is uniquely able to work with standard, off-the-shelf hardware, will be running on a Supermicro platform with dual Intel® Xeon™ processors, and will be connected to an Engenio 2882 storage system containing an Intel® IOP321 I/O processor.
The demo will include HDTV streaming to a high-end PC in a special pod, which also houses the ExaStore system, and NTSC video streaming to other PCs scattered around the Intel booth.
The high-performance ExaStore NAS solution sets a new standard for data center storage. Comprised of ExaStore software and Intel-based, off-the-shelf hardware, the ExaStore solution is cost effective, fully redundant and blindingly fast. It easily integrates with any workstation or server, and supports a wide range of applications using standard protocols. It is fully scalable, automates many tedious administrative tasks, and offers demonstrable productivity gains.
