Alienware(R) -- the leading manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook, media center, servers and professional systems -- is now offering the breakthrough AMD Athlon(TM) 64 FX-62 dual-core processor on the Aurora(TM) 7500 and Aurora ALX desktop systems. The AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 is the ultimate processor for PC enthusiasts and runs the most demanding 3D games and multiple processor-intensive applications without compromise.

The AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 dual-core processor combines cutting-edge dual-core technology with the ultra-powerful gaming performance that characterizes AMD Athlon 64 FX processors to open up numerous multitasking possibilities. With the AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 dual-core processor, Aurora 7500 and Aurora ALX users can do multiple things simultaneously, such as play the latest games while either instant messaging or creating or editing digital media.

Gaming performance is further enhanced thanks to an integrated memory controller, which helps reduce system latency, and HyperTransport(TM) Technology, which is designed to eliminate I/O bottlenecks and significantly increases bandwidth. The AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 dual-core processor can also protect online gamers from destructive viruses, worms, and Trojan horses with Enhanced Virus Protection(1), and can deliver cool and quiet operation while saving power with AMD's Cool'n'Quiet(TM) technology.

"The Aurora 7500 and Aurora ALX have always featured the absolute latest AMD processing technology as soon as it became available, and that pattern continues with the FX-62," said Mark Vena, Vice President of Marketing at Alienware. "By offering FX-62-powered Aurora 7500 and Aurora ALX systems, Alienware is giving performance-hungry gamers and other high performance PC users exactly what they have been looking for: the ultimate combination of gaming performance and multitasking capabilities."

"The AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 dual-core processor compatible with socket AM2 supports AMD Virtualization and DDR2 memory," said Bob Brewer, corporate vice president, desktop division, AMD. "Whether you want the most realistic gaming experience possible or highly effective productivity with intense digital media applications, you can't go wrong using the Aurora 7500 powered by AMD's Athlon 64 FX-62 dual-core processor."
