InterVideo WinDVD Installations top 175 Million

Universal Player Incorporates Industry's Most Advanced Audio and Video Technologies to Deliver Amazing Theater-like Experience
Fremont, CA – June 1, 2006 — InterVideo®, Inc. (NASDAQ: IVII) a leader in digital media software technology, announced today that sales of WinDVD®, the world's most popular software for watching video and DVDs on a PC, have reached more than 175 million copies worldwide.

"We feel that 175 million units is a very important milestone," Steve Ro, president and CEO of InterVideo, noted. "With each version of WinDVD, we have added features that further enhance our customers digital lifestyle, and they have responded enthusiastically. The numbers speak for themselves."

First released to retail in 1999, WinDVD is now in its seventh version and can be used to playback not only DVDs, VCDs and Audio CDs, but also all of the next-generation high-definition video formats, including H.264 MPEG-4/AVC, HDTV, and WMV-HD (Windows® Media Video High Definition). This is in addition to playing back formats like Real®, QuickTime®, and DivX®, as well as 3GPP/3GPP2.

On the audio side, WinDVD includes support for DVD-Audio, Intel® High Definition Audio, and of course Dolby® Digital, Dolby Headphone, Dolby Virtual Speaker, DTS™ Digital Surround Sound, and SRS TruSurround XT™.

With UPnP support, WinDVD 7 has also found its place in the digital home - playing back video from Universal Plug & Play CE devices. This means it can play almost any multimedia content shared over a UPnP network. Users can also share content using a mobile device such as an iPod, PDA, PMP, or mobile phone.

Besides the retail version, WinDVD has also been bundled with major OEM PC manufacturers worldwide. The latest version of WinDVD is included with Toshiba’s HD DVD notebook for HD DVD content and disc playback. In addition, WinDVD BD was recently chosen to be pre-installed on the first-to-market notebook and desktop PCs with Blu-ray Disc (BD) drives.
