ABIT Computer, hardware manufacturing's biggest supporter of the international gaming community, is hosting a booth at QuakeCon 2004 on August 12-15th.

August 9, 2004 – Think you have what it takes to challenge 3-time CPL champion Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel? Think again At Quakecon 2004 from there’s never been a better opportunity to find out. ABIT invites you to take on Fatal1ty at the Quakecon 2004 Fatal1ty Doom 3™ Shootout™. Quakecon 2004 is slated to be the official launch of id Software’s DOOM 3™, touted to be the most technologically advanced game ever released. Launched worldwide on August 3 of 2004, it means that all challengers have equal footing against Fatal1ty. If you’ve got the skills, beat Fatal1ty 1v1 and score some wicked prizes, including the very first ABIT Fatal1ty Motherboard.

QuakeCon is free to the public and is held every year in the Dallas, Texas area. This year players will be competing on a whole new arena, DOOM 3, which has just hit store shelves. No one has had time to practice or master the game and with the even playing field almost any QuakeCon attendee could win the tournament and walk away with one of the much anticipated, exclusive DOOM 3 prizes.

The Fatal1ty Shootout at QuakeCon 2004 will be open to all fellow gamers of all skill levels and press that wish to test their abilities against the world’s best known gamer. Shootout schedule and details for challengers will be available at the Fatal1ty Shootout stage at ABIT booth C1 and also posted at http://www.fatal1ty.com, http://www.abitgamer.com and http://www.abit-usa.com. Shootouts will be contested on Fatal1ty/PWX concept systems as at all previous events. Fatal1ty Shootouts have recently been held at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles and Computex in Taipei, Taiwan. The Fatal1ty Shootout program will go on the road to Europe immediately following QuakeCon.
