Buy.com Announces Cyber Monday Traffic Surpasses Prior Year by Fifty-Four Percent as Online Holiday Shopping Starts

Cyber Monday 2006 Ushers Most Visits to Site This Season
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Nov. 30, 2006 Buy.com, the leading online retailer, recorded its busiest day of the year so far on "Cyber Monday," the Monday after Thanksgiving. Buy.com's site visits increased 54 percent over last year's Cyber Monday, November 28th, 2005 and 59 percent over last year's Black Friday, November 25th, 2005.

Popular items included a Bluetooth headset, TV DVD box sets, Xbox 360/PS3/Wii video games, the Slingbox AV, Fantom Drives Titanium II 250GB Hard Drive, a Kingston 2GB SD Card and ViewSonic 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor.

"Cyber Monday has been our strongest day of the season so far with online shoppers out in record numbers," said Doug Marrs, VP of Marketing for Buy.com. "We are seeing tremendous discounts and deals from our vendor partners across all our categories this year, which is great for our customers."

The peak day for holiday traffic on Buy.com in 2005 came on December 12th.

I'm keeping my eyes open for e-tailers such as NewEgg and Amazon...I would think they would have massive sales numbers this week.
