Antec notebook accessories provide vital cooling and long-lasting performance for laptop computers

Fremont, CA - December 13, 2006 - Antec, Inc., the leading global brand of high-performance computer components for the PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself markets, has released Notebook Cooler S, a small portable laptop cooler that effectively prevents overheating and associated problems, and NP-100, a high-capacity notebook power adapter that increases the life of laptop batteries.
Notebook Cooler S, the little brother to the original Notebook Cooler, is ideal for notebook users who travel frequently with their laptops. The lightweight cooler uses two quiet, ball-bearing blowers to direct cool air across the base of the laptop as it rests on the device. Notebook Cooler S saves users the worry of malfunction due to overheating, protecting components and prolonging the life of laptops and the valuable information stored on them.
Notebook Cooler S easily connects to the computer via the USB port. The USB plug-in includes a pass-through connector, allowing the port to remain functional. The cooler requires no batteries or adapters and uses very little power, preserving laptop battery life. Users can also choose between maximum cooling and minimum noise with two fan speed settings.
The NP-100 Notebook Power Adapter is designed to work with almost all laptop computers, with power efficiency up to 84% at full load. Featuring a full 100 watts of output power, the NP-100 prevents frequent short-term battery draw caused by underpowered adapters in peak usage conditions. By eliminating this frequent charge/discharge cycle NP-100 increases overall laptop stability, reduces heating and extends the life of notebook computer batteries.
For users who transport their laptops often, NP-100 makes for a lighter commuting load by allowing one power adapter to stay at the office and one to stay at home. Seven changeable connectors and six output voltage settings provide compatibility with a wide range of computers, and NP-100 includes such important safety features as Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Short Current Protection (SCP), Over Current Protection (OCP) and Over Temperature Protection (OTP).
"The success of the original Notebook Cooler prompted Antec to further meet the needs of frequent laptop users," said Scott Richards, senior vice president of Antec. "As more high-performance notebooks come to market and serious concerns about battery stability become more widespread, the need for effective cooling and adequate power is increasing. Antec is pleased to provide solutions to its customers who rely heavily on their notebooks."
Notebook Cooler S is currently available from major retailers, e-tailers and distributors for approximately $34.95. NP-100 will retail for approximately $79.99 and will be available at the end of January, 2007. Both products are backed by Antec's Quality 3-Year Warranty.
