I guess they thought the Inquirer article got more press than it did... I never heard about it... so really, this PR just makes me worried about buying AC stuff as a consumer.

I don't think a company should ever release a PR like this... especially with that much detail!

I did a search on The Inq and found the original article:
YESTERDAY MORNING, Arctic Cooling office in Hong Kong got a visit from no other than the boys in blue, who apparently have become interested in this company after job movements at the firm. We have dug hard to find out what is going on and yours truly had to spend the last couple of nights not sleeping and contacting Arctic Cooling partners and customers to get as many facts as possible. It appears that the CEO sacked a bunch of partners on the last day of March, threatening to call the police to evict the co-founder. This all happened right after the CEO managed to acquire controlling share of the company, it seems.

This Swiss company was founded by two classmates and friends, but last week, Magnus Huber, CEO of the company ousted the company co-founder, director and general manager, sacking them with immediate effect.

This company has a one man HQ in Switzerland and an operation office in Hong Kong, around 14 employees and a turnover of around 20 million US dollars a year. Hong Kong office experienced a police visit yesterday, because the CEO banned current director from any office access. Things got messy after it turned out that the CEO was working in Hong Kong without a valid working visa, rather owing a classical business visit one. It remains to be seen what will happen next, but we have not been able to reach Arctic Cooling Hong Kong office in the past two days.

We have also contacted Hong Kong Police department and waiting for an answer from officials concerning this situation.

There is massive confusion internally and externally, and we know that the production lines and new products are still in the pipeline. However, the future of the company is now uncertain.

The real question is what it is, what impact it actually has on anyone, and if it in any way should make us worry about their products. As I am a big fan of their products and find a lot of them the best deal for the money in non-stock cooling solutions.

Hi, Magnus,

When I knew this issue last week, I was so disappointed that you are really so selfish that you were not only destroyed our R&D dream team in 2006 by your Suspicious nature, but also kick you very good friend and partner out of company because of interests and clear all company history that related to him

All our effort to the development of AC has gone

Tony
(was the Project Manager of R&D team in AC)
