That is incredible! Can you imagine if all those cards were gtx 280 or ati 4870X2. Don't show this to Darkstar, he might get some ideas!

Wow man. That room must be awfully warm in winter. May during the summer, it feels like a sauna!
You know, I'm beginning to think that instead of folding for a cause, some people are folding just to get a bigger e-penis....But that's my opinion. Sorry if it offended anyone.

The room that all those machines are in is going to need some serious cooling, it must be like a furnace!

The sale of the C2Q helped, but I put up MORE money to get this farm...this farm is going to be about 80K higher with less rigs than the previous one.

Re: The most incredible folding farm I've seen...
DOH - my bad, I didnt read properly

I really dont think it matters. You would need air blowing in the sides to make any difference when they are stacked up to 4, so it might just be the way the cables would fit the best.

Re: The most incredible folding farm I've seen...
If you read the whole thread, someone did the math on the 8800GTs and it looks like once it levels out, he has the potential of 250k+ per day. Unfortunately, the motherboard is discontinued at Newegg. He must have bought them out. haha.
I have 2 of the 8800GTs already, wouldn't really cost that much to add another pair of those if I can find a motherboard to support it.

Sorry guys, I kind of 'defected' a while back
I seen this thread in the "Link-Back" & thought I'd post in reply to DaIceMan.. The board is still available, but as an "Open Box" deal @$105 : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 813130080R

You forgot a CPU.
But still, that is some serious numbers for under $600.

With all that being said, I've seen better deals on the GPUs & mobo, so YMMV I guess.
I have to say that I've really gotten into folding as it helps heal some emotional wounds with having lost my mother (cancer) ~ 13 years ago as well as my Grandmother this past March. It's all for the cause in the end, but we all have a competitive side that pushes us to do the best we can.
I am currently pushing out a good number of ppd, although it should be about 5-10k more (this is according to FahMon btw). It varies soo much for some reason & I seem to be getting lots of the low-point WUs at the moment.
Rig 1: QX9650 @4GHz, 4GB G-Skill PC-6400, Gigabyte DS3L mobo, eVGA 8800GTS 640mb (G80).. Running Vista Ultimate x64 with Dual VMWare Linux x64 SMP clients & 1 GPU2 client. Rig total should equal around 10,500ppd
Rig 2: Q6600 (1.20VID) @3.4GHz, 2GB Patriot PC-8500, DFI DK mobo, Zotac 8800GT Amped Edition.. Running Vista Ultimate x64 with Dual VMWare Linux x64 SMP clients & 1 GPU2 client. Rig total should equal around 8-9000ppd (I let my boy game/surf on this one).
Rig 3: Q6700 @3.2GHz, 4GB G-Skill PC-6400, ASUS P5k Deluxe Wi-Fi, eVGA 8800GT-KO... Running XP Pro SP3 with Dual VMWare Linux SMP clients & 1 GPU2 client. Rig total should equal around 10,000ppd
Soon to come: Hurry up eVGA Step-Up!!! .... Rig 4: P4D-820, 2GB Ballistix PC-8500, P5K mobo, 2 x eVGA 9800GTX...Running Vista Ultimate x64... Will strictly run 2 GPU2 clients & anticipate around 12500-13kppd
FOLD ON!!!!
