No Posts In 7 Years, But Still Turning in Work Units In 2018
I just checked the status of Legit Reviews Folding @ Home Team #38296 and was shocked to see we were still turning in work units. In fact there were 601 CPU's active within the past 50 days and the last work unit was turned in on 2/18/2018. I'm speechless that people are still folding for the team. (Edit: I think this is a big as it shows that number active for all teams I looked at.)
I'm not sure who the last [email protected] user was, but thank you. Darkstar_DD was the muscle for the team over the years and has cranked out 104,000 of the 506,000 work units that were turned in. The team was in the top 100 for a bit, but has fallen back to 264. Still amazing.

I wonder who's still turning in WU's?
The stats I could find only go back a week.
When I was [email protected] I was using video cards(3)
As the cards burned out, so did I!
Proud to still be #5 on the list!

I just turned on my Xeon Bronze scalable and Xeon D esxi servers that are mostly idle. Figured why not, plus it’ll keep the basement warm.

I read a few weeks ago there's been some renewed interest in [email protected] with Covid 19 spreading everywhere!
I also read there have been some major changes to the setup!

Wow I thought they folded up years ago
I might have to give it a whirl again.

The setup is different, you need a key and the config is a bit different all xml based. Took me maybe an hour to spin up two VMware Photon like VMs on my two ESXi servers and get them configured correctly,
It now has a nice little web interface too which is nice. I’m pushing crazy numbers (to me at least since I last folded who knows when) which I’m quickly learning that are dwarfed by even the lowest of GPU folding.
This is what I followed. Great VMware guy to follow too.

It is amazing what GPU's can do! I keep saving up for a RTX card and then something comes up or I find a new shiny object I "need" or people buy me a new shiny object I "need" and I have to get extras for it LOL
Gonna try to get it running this weekend to see what kind of numbers I will see.

Looks like I'm gonna have to ramp it up a tad to keep my top 10 spot.

I'm not so sure I have a rig that would be worth the time, effort or cost!?!

I still havent installed it on mine. I am thinking like you, without an Nvidia GPU I doubt it will do a whole lot.camaroguy1998 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 11:43 pmHmmm, some renewed interest!InspectahACE wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 11:44 amLooks like I'm gonna have to ramp it up a tad to keep my top 10 spot.

You can fold on cpus and raspberry pi’s too. It’s not about points, it’s about the good we can do for not just covid but a multitude of diseases. Yeah could I get more points out of the a 400$ GPU than all my homeland servers, totally. But it’s still worth the time and money.

Re: No Posts In 7 Years, But Still Turning in Work Units In 2018
Nah,
I used to be fanatical about folding but not since I know that all today's western medical "science" is worth crap. They sit on the horse backwards. I just keep my immune system strong with avoiding poison (no junk, pop drinks, gmo etc.), eating organic, exercising, sleeping enough, taking vitamins, minerals and trace elements every day and haven't been sick in 17 years, same as my mom (just past 75 and super healthy), my wife, and my 3 kids who never saw a doctor yet (except at birth and a dentist). Surgeons are needed to patch you up from an accident, you need dentists and maybe doctors to help with a birth but all else is bull and can be avoided. Since I know all this and have the past 17 years to back it up, I just feel folding is a waste of electricity and resources, not to mention that we don't really know what "they" are using all this data for? I just don't trust them anymore, especially since this giant covid scam is going on and the rigged elections and... I could go on and on.
