overclockix

Post by werewolfdaddy »

I have a p3 with a gig of memory, but without a hard drive. I got to thinking that a live cd with f@h on it must exist. I found http://overclockix.octeams.com . Has anyone else tried this or one like it?I was thinking of giving it a go.

*UPDATE at 4:04 am.* downloading overclockix as I type this. Will post my results.

Yes i have used it and it works well for the most part. If your not trying to get it to work on a massive Xeon cluster.

It's very nice to have someone with experience around to ask questions of. If I run into any trouble, i'll post back here. Thanks in advance. :) :drinkers:

NP i have used both overclockix and the diskless cluster verion. They are almost done with the new Borgix which should be a huge improvement over the diskless cluster version they have now.

you could also install Feather Linux on USB a pen drive --> 180mb and it boots straight to a desktop......CD's are read-only, with the usb stick your folding data can be stored locally incase of a power cut etc. ;)

It's very easy to install too........

My pen drive is only 128. Gotta run down to walmart and get another one. Either that or wait for my new one to arrive from MS and hope it's a 256. :)
