I was thinking about this and it seems to me this would encourage people to stop folding on their slower computers in order to raise thier average score. Especially for people without folding farms, who know they have no chance of winning the total points award.

Also, it also seems to favor people who've spent the most money on their pc's. An average joe will be lucky to have more than one computer, let alone a farm. Will the average joe have a top of the line rig with watercooling? Probably not. So, the contest is in effect rewarding whoever is willing to throw the most money toward folding. Which in itself isn't a bad thing. However, does a guy with two 1900xt's in sli mode on a amd 5000 x2 set up to fold really need a x1950xt more than someone with an amd 1900 and a geforce 3? Probably not. It just doesn't look like a level playing field for all the dedicated folders for LR, who give what they can, even if it isn't the best. That being said: it's just a contest.
