Need Help With Configuring F@H

Post by Razorbacx »

I've been folding almost nonstop for nearly a week now and still have not completed one single WU. Currently I'm showing 9600/20000. I've shut down nearly everything running in the background and I feel as though I'm literally stuck in the mud. My cpu is set at 85% plus I have cable internet that has been pretty reliable. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Regards,

what are your system specifications?
What WU (project #) are you currently folding?
What F@H version are you running? (Console/GUI)

These projects are inspired by data collected in projects 2106 and 2107. They treat the electrostatics interactions in a more precise way.

Points and deadlines:
p2124 points 396, 110 days
p2125 points 392, 109 days
a ~400pt WU sould only take ~2-6 days on your rig, depending on how long you leave the PC powered on and folding.

It does seem a little slow in you case for this to be running for a whole week.....and only getting 9600 out of 20000 completed.......that's less than half done :?

2124 is the same one that one of my rigs is working on (P4 3.2Ghz), just stared on that one probably 45 min ago.

The gromacs core work units that I have seen are rough. I have two running now. on core one @ 85% its getting 45-60min per step. core two @ 100% 20-30 min per step, right now core two has Completed 39000000 out of 50000000 steps got about 24hrs to go to finish it.

on a pentD820 with a gig ram.

Off hand I really cannot think of any. I'd like to figure out the answer to that one myself :)

Turn off your screensaver and close any applications (and programs running in the taskbar) that you're not using at the moment. That should help you out a little...
