What they discovered is that in people in the early stages of Alzheimer's diseases, as well as those with advanced cases, these proteins sent unusual messages.
"Our technology enables us to 'listen' to the chatter of cells communicating with each other, and determine if there's anything abnormal," said Dr. Tony Wyss-Coray, an associate professor of neurology at Stanford University School of Medicine who helped found Satoris in 2003.

Stanford & Alzheimer's - A Step Forward
This isn't directly linked to Folding, but a team of researchers at Stanford University and several other institutions believe they've discovered a simple blood test for detecting the onset of Alzheimer's disease, long before its victims are robbed of their memory and personality.

I wonder what the cells are chattering about ..."Our technology enables us to 'listen' to the chatter of cells communicating with each other, and determine if there's anything abnormal,"
"Hey, I wish this guy would stop eating those big midnight snacks."
"Why does he insist on staying up late at night depriving us cells of much needed beauty sleep."
"Look out, here comes another dose of caffine, that stuff gives me the jitters."
"Sick, whose sick? I thought this was the normal life of a cell."
"This guy sticks to the SAD diet, that's the Standard American Diet."
