Wow, turns out it was chugging along this whole time. Man, a non OCd E6600 is rubbish at folding (even with 2 clients!). But I left it un-OCd so i was sure it wouldnt crash due to my OCs being sucky.

well if its rubbish give it to me, i'll make it fold right?

A little trick I use is download process explorer. Set affinity so FAH1 and its associated processes are set to Core 1 and everything else and I mean everything else is set to Core 0. Core 1 will fold faster. And then I switch it, so the one that is yet to finish is using the core that is for FAH only. Results in about a 25% decrease in folding times. Basically the core can run FAH uninterrupted period.

 I really did end up with a sucky component that is limiting my OC, probably the CPU as I have to throw load more volts at it to get it to even just your OC.

(and i said that my CPU is at stock while its unattended)

what was your/is OC?

and what are your voltages?

If you don't remember I can wait. I had a ton of issues OCing mine at all. Feel free to PM or AIM me when you get back in front of your comp, and we'll see what we can do.

AM back in sheffield for tonight only, but not going to mess about with tweaks. For some reason the FAH clients could submit or recieve work so that accounts for my lack of work over christmas. A restart of the computer fixed it. Why do so many random things happen to all the PC's I own? lol, probably all the tweaking I do!

Dan, you should install Linux onto a small partition and use that to fold when your away! It also better for security, not just from hackers on the web, but any of your house mates too! ("wtf where's the start menu on Dans rig?")
