I'm still trying to confirm if we need 64bit linux for the SMP to work.

EDIT It is indeed still 64bit Linux Only
We are very pleased to announce the release of a number of version 6.0 clients to open beta testing.
You can read more about v6 at:
http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-v6.html

Released clients can be downloaded from the download page:

Of note, the Linux uniprocessor and SMP clients have been merged. You can now control SMP versus uniprocessor behavior by using the -smp flag. See the FAQ for more details. The OSX/Intel client remains SMP-only.

Also of note, we do not yet have a Windows v6 SMP client available for testing. Windows uniprocessor clients are available.

Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks!

with v6, if you want it to run SMP. you have to do ./fah6 -smp .

If you DO NOT do this, you will run 1 core.

yup that is true, over Christmas break, I'm gonna try to get linux on this laptop, I know the latest Beta of Ubuntu works, but it has a nasty bug of not listening to where you want it to install to (overwrote my Vista Partition, not good when you have all your school stuff there)
