A week long challenge

Alright guys and gals I'm heading out of town today for a vacation and will back on the 9th. During that time my two machines will be folding full time and should be putting out 3 work units a day, which is 3520/5280 points a day. (QX6700 and E6700, both at 3.2GHz)
How about a week long push to try and average 38,000 per day? For the past few days we've been right at 33-35k so this shouldn't be TOO hard with both of my rigs going full time and if everyone steps up a little. It will really help if Mad_Goku steps up and has his two machines going!
Maybe we can get Apop to get one of his machines going for a week and bring that up to 40k!
Anyway, lets push a little more and start catching some of these teams a little quicker. Borg what computers you can from your friends and family and see if we can break the top 100 by 2009! I'll be adding at least three machines (a kentsfield, a yorkfield, and a conroe) to the team by the end of March, what else can we add??????

I've just started folding again, but the rig will only be on for ~8hrs a day.
I'm also only down to one rig and no lappy.
I should be good for ~800ppd I'd guess

I just upgraded the cooling on the XClio machine and saw that the OC improved greatly. I was recently blessed with a TT Big Typhoon cooler. It's stable at 3.275Ghz now while folding.
There is a newer Toshiba laptop sitting at the house doing nothing, but it's my son's friends. I'll make a move on that machine if given the OK.
It's a bummer that my fleet of four single core machines can only dump out 4~8 WU's (about 700 points) a week.
WARSS, Geokilla007, Martini161, VVrioux, EricTKD, TheBlackPumpkin, DGood and stev (me) are helping to clear through the ranks of the quitters. In time, I hope this group can join the fold (pun intended) near the top level.
Of course we need those power machines cranking away too.
LR needs another fold-a-thon to encourage the team to bust the 100 team list. Were back at 117 due to those PS3 teams scaling the roster.

Problem with the fold-a-thon is they stay for the contest, get the prize and leave.

True.
However, we need to be creative to figure out how to aquire more dependable team members for the long haul.
How do those top teams do it?

There must be something to excite members to join and remain folding.
I wonder if we took the time to send PM's or e-mails to previous folders for LR if they would return? It would be a nice start.

I have some AMD sckt 939 hardware here sitting doing nothing.
I can offer it to anyone (in Europe) if they want it, only on condition they fold a few hundred WU's in return!
Asus mobo, 2GB DDR500, 3800+ X2 and a 7100GS
The offer is only for European members though! We need more international members here aswell!

That will be great! You'll pass my little 4 core for singles farm in no time flat.

I'll try to get my machines up and running again doing it. I really think I only have one or two folding right now and if they are, I don't think they are even at my house

. I think they are ones others are using. I'll get mine up for a while. Problem is my parents will turn them off when I leave even when I try to keep them on. My old dual core that used to be left on all the time is off at a friends. I like the idea though. Wish I was allowed to put it on all my comps and leave them running, including my brothers and parents. Then I'd have 6 running it.

6 running at all, for any amount of time is better than nothing, just do what you can and what won't get your grounded

I finally was able to order some better (faster and more) ram for the 'beast. Hopefully, I can get it tweaked and tuned to drop a unit every 24hrs, which will keep me over 3520ppd... and with my son's machine dropping a small unit every 3rd day or so, I hope to average about 3650ppd.
My old daily driver, I believe, has finally bit the dust. It's an Athlon 2200+ and I can't really find a mobo I'm willing to order to find out if that's the problem or not. I've replaced/tested everything else in it and it didn't help, so it's either the mobo or processor. Maybe it was just it's way of telling me it was tired... but at least it went out folding.

I got the Q6700 I ordered, but wife had to have surgery, so I dont know if I can afford to keep it or not. $2600 bill so far, and at least another $1500 on its way - damn crappy insurance.
If I can keep it, I will get it running today probably!

I am still waiting for the new mobile chips to be released. Everyone said I should wait. I could do a new build but I don't have a lot of room for another tower case.

that would be nice for me, i cant fold on mine(it still just wont connect and even when i get a WU it takes a week or so and doesnt even finish) and my mom wont let me use the P4(she thinks folding is a way for people to take all her personal info

), but i am folding@school when i get the chance(stupid publications class(which im not in) takes all the computers so i cant stay logged in

) including nights and weekends(he shuts the computers off over breaks though

)
