both my smp clients seem to have quit after finishing there work units tonite.

task manager doesnt show any fah proceses running, they get stuck on the user agreement part for about 1 or 2 minutes then close themselves

The server could be down or you may have reinstall the program due to the length of time you have been running the SMP client. I'm not sure

I run into that sometimes during the weekend. The server is usually up by monday. Have you tried to restart your computer? If not, give it a try. How many SMP clients do you run on each computer? If you have more than one, please tell me how you are able to do that. I would always like to get more points for the team. All I could find on the folding @ home site was this http://folding.typepad.com/ Not sure if it will help. Good luck

yes there its still running and now when i try to run them a i get a socket error about trying to connect somewhere and its not even recorded in the log

I just looked closely to your fah.log ... few things I can think of:
1- bug in fah tool
2- fahcore_a1.exe some how still running (could be from the another client)

Did you install those 2 clients in Program Files folder? If not, it might cause that problem too.

When I first tried to install 2 clients on 1 PC, first time running them, the both failed ...
Then, re-installed them in ProgramFiles directory (in 2 dif. folders FAH01, FAH02) ... everything works fine.

Another thing is shutting down (closing -- Ctrl + C) SMP clients, you need to leave your computer on for at least 15-20 minutes for FAH processes to complete writing back to HDD and write exit point.
If not, when you turn your PC on, WU will be gone.

add the forceasm flag as to your client, it'll get rid of the bad termination thing. It looks like something went haywire and it can't get a valid core even though it is. Delete your Core files, and you work files. It'll recreate the work directory and redownload the core, it should work now.
