Howdy doodie..I noticed that since I downloaded the beta display drivers that supports CUDA is rather unstable in Vista..It managed to stop working over and over again..not sure why..But do we konw if the just released drivers from Nvidia will work? I ask since I installed those drivers since the beta wasn't doin too well..but F@H seems to have issues now..here's what I saw on the log that I noticed each time I tried..I'm only posting it once as it's all that's logged each time I tried..I'm thinking it's the drivers..sucks too I was kickin some @$$ on the folding before this

When I see stuff like that it usually means that the server is busy or no work to be done. Give it a little while and it will kick in.

"mdrun_gpu returned -1" means it's crashing.
:-/
Unless matt (dicecca) has some advice for you, I'd suggest posting in the official stanford folding forums.
Have you tried rolling back the graphics card drivers back to an earlier version?
Dan

Actually this happened because the beta drivers(177.35) the CUDA site gave to me to use became way too unstable and I did back down to 175.19(the official driver released recently)...Beta drivers worked great with
[email protected] the driver would stop working since my screen would go black then windows would say the driver wasn't working..but now..with this driver..F@H boots up and runs but no work is done...
Update: HOLY $&@& ! i just checked how many WU's ive done since yesterday( to see and it jumped to 71..from 43..thats good an all but I don't recall workin that lol

Make sure you have uninstalled all previous drivers and versions of F@H before changing drivers. Other than that, follow Dan's advice and go post at F@H, if you don't feel like registering. I can post for you over there.

it seems the GPU work server is down right now. GRRR! Hope they have it fixed in time for the Folding War.
ACE... where did you get the drivers? I have the 177.35 I'm using, but they are designed for the 200 series cards and required a modified .inf to work with the 8800GTX. Shoot me a PM if you need help with .inf file.
Edit: I was just advised that they have updated the CUDA drivers for the 8 series now.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html I haven't tried those, but I'm reinstalling windows on my gamer today, so I'll give it a shot with my 8800GTX and see how it works.

Glad you posted this! I was just about to try and figure out why I couldnt send or receive WU's! Thanx DaIceMan!
Let us know how the new drivers work for your 8800GTX, 177.35 would not work for me!
Right now I'm using 174.55

InspectahACE, when a WU fails and ends early what ever it has done is sent to stanford anyway and that counts as a WU on your totals.
You don't usually get points for these failed WU's though, so even though they count on the WU total, they are worthless to stanford and you.

I had a feeling of that Dan...cuz i know there was no way in hell I would be able to get up to that point range without another rig lol..spose I will reinstall the drivers with that updated CUDA ones as well...i notice the version number is still the same(177.35) but I'll give it a go around again..see it's any different

I don't know if you have seen EOC stats, but you can track your points and WU's here,
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... =&u=356188
You can see how there are lots of WU's but no points, because of the errors.

I'm using the new CUDA drivers from nvidia, and they seem to work just fine. I haven't had any issues with my 88X since installing them.
