Its not often i actually need help with getting something going, either i can get it going just by guessing or i just give up with out doing it.

I recently tried this tutorial http://forums.legitreviews.com/about16142.html but when i ran the installer it installed, and from there it jsut kept throwing up errors, and i have been un able to Uninstall it so i did the quick fix and deleted it. yes i know it possibly wasnt the smartest thing to do but i was frustrated.

I have a Core 2 Duo E6850 with a 8600GTS XFX xXx edition, what FAH should i run? I tried FAH once before when i was on my old CPU but it was just to Crap so i gave in. Now ive had this for a while and maybe i should give it another shot.

All help would be nice.

It's going to be close on PPD between the two if you get the right SMP units, the problem is that you're not likely to get the good ones. I would stick with the GPU client, with the 177.35 drivers you should see ~1700 ppd.

SMP work units are getting really tough on dual cores now, pretty much to the point where unless you have an Intel Quad you're better off with GPU.

Ok got it but its jsut started and thrown up two errors. But it still seems to be running..
Any ideas?

Aside from uninstalling the program, deleting any remaining folding at home folders there might be, and reinstalling the programs i don't know what else to suggest.

Are you always running with the viewer? If so leave it off and right click on the tray icon and go to status->log.

The viewer is extremely unstable but I don't think it should be causing errors that quickly. One of the errors is kinda strange (cudart.dll missing). I've seen the error before and had to reinstall.

Uninstall the FAH GPU and then re-install but don't use the viewer.

Try rebooting your computer, if your OC'ing, back it off a little.
Your OC may not be as stable as you may think.
That was my problem when I first started running the GPU client.

cudart.dll is in the c:/program files directory that the gpu client creates upon installation.

Still though, check over the Official GPU Installation thread here.. http://forums.legitreviews.com/about16437.html ...there is a link to get drivers that will help improve folding performance.

The results you are seeing sent off is the report for the failed unit. There are 2 (maybe 3) UNSTABLE_MACHINE errors in there that killed the work unit. When this happens, it still transmits the data back to Stanford and starts a new unit.

Do you have the video card overclocked beyond factory specs? I only got the unstable_machine when I had my GPU overclock a little too high. I backed it down a bit and it has worked fine since.

its a factory overclocked card and recently i ahd to turn off my OC in the Sig, so no, no other overclocking
