Why is my GPU folding sleeping?

Post by DX »

I haven't told it to sleep. I checked it this afternoon and it says that it is sleeping. Sure enough only one core on my system working the FaCore_82 running on one of the cores. I mouse over the icon and it says that it is sleeping. If I tell it to display it says:

Donor
Name: Core is not
Team: running now.

However it shows the animation running and that there is something being processed though it is horrible perfomace saying 1.00 iter/sec time left over 11 days.

Name: test protein A
Core: GROMACS
Progress: 797/1000000

It is just chunking slow as hell on one piece? Anyone have an idea?

I will note that it still says that it is sleeping on the systray.

I was getting that too... Was your internet connection still running?

Mine finished a WU and then didn't send it back or anything. I closed the display and brought it back up and it was restarted... I don't know what is going on.

GPU folding is fast though!

I only get that problem if I'm not connected to the internet. So I assume it's probably the folding servers, if you have a connection, it took about an hour once until it got the next WU, just let it run on.

I let it run and it still says it is sleeping.
It says the core is out of date. However when I went downloads there isn't a new GPU beta client. So what do I do?

Oh forget it. It seems to be working now. I wonder why it couldn't get the new core the first 5 times.

It does that every time it is sending or receiving a new WU.
