When To Do Folding War Part Duex
Since Matt sponsored the last one I'll pitch some stuff in for this one.
For this one it will be divided into smaller teams of say four to five people that way all will win some great prizes. This will also increase the competition between each other and increase the chances for an upset.
UPDATE: Folding War Part Duex will feature teams of 4 people... The prizes... Let's just say it will add something to each folders farm! More details to come after the date is picked.

Volt for Steve Holt!
I will stay out of the voting because I only have one machine and can get about 1 WU per day. Good luck everyone! Looks like these folding wars are really helping the team numbers.

I can't man my machines at work on any of those dates.
But if they are still online when the competition kicks off, count me in.
Are we going to fold for as long next time?

I think we should... I want to make a run for the top 100 teams... we are 10 teams out and at the end of the last war we were just a couple weeks away from moving into the top 100.DMB2000uk wrote:I can't man my machines at work on any of those dates.![]()

Re: When To Do Folding War Part Duex
Man this is turning into rush week
Count me in but if possible wait a few weeks and I should have my main rig back up (sorry to Team Matt, I really thought I'd have it up during the competition but due to unforeseeable circumstances I haven't seen my baby for quite awhile (I'm moving (yeah I did brackets in brackets what of it (
)))). Our jump in ranking was pretty cool though so I'm definitely in for another.

Really doesn't matter to me. I am still running my rig 24/7. Folding war or not. I can't build a new rig in that time frame, which is a bummer.

Re: When To Do Folding War Part Duex
I would say wait for September, when school is back in session, and there are cooler temps. Not to mention free power for the college kids, and they can fold longer, plus recruit their friends. Also 2 Weeks is enough, the 3rd week dragged. We need some time off before we do this again.
We can discuss team captains (nominated by the folding team is my suggestions), and how to pick teams (gym class style or balance PPD like last time)
Also custom User ranks for participants? It would perhaps get guests and normal members to join the team if they see "Folder for Team X". They might go oh what's fold, read the stick and join the team.

Too late to wait as I already got sponsors involved and product is on the way from a few companies. ;)dicecca112 wrote:I would say wait for September, when school is back in session, and there are cooler temps. I think we need a couple of weeks to recover from the electric bills.

Re: When To Do Folding War Part Duex
yeah... I'm going to need some time to recover. none of the machines I have running right now are as they should be. I'm going to need a solid weekend for my rebuild on everything and I won't have that time during the next 2 weekends. I voted August 20th and hope I can get it together by then. *looks at check book, searching for money to buy more video cards*

Re: When To Do Folding War Part Duex
I'm game for this time round, work has slowed up and I can get my home box back up and running (currently in pieces). Think I need to set down and redo all my installs though, been a while since I have updated them to the new versions.

Re: When To Do Folding War Part Duex
We'll let's hold off on the war and make this a member drive contest or something... Let's see if we can gain some team members with this contest then since the majority of you guys want to wait.

Re: When To Do Folding War Part Duex
Good idea Nate. There is a lot of little details we have to work out for the next war, and I'd like input from all that participated in the first. Expect a thread guys, I'll be sure to PM everyone.

Re: When To Do Folding War Part Duex
Ah darn ... didn't think before I voted ( got 20th now )
. But since y'all seem to want to start in september the 15th of August probably is out of question.
My apprenticeship will start on the 1st of September and university start a few weeks later, so I'll have to pay the energy bill all alone since I'll move out of my parents house.
At least my moms couldn't complain and turn of the computer, while I'm away.
I'll try to get a few friend to fold for the next war.
