Read the article about the release from Nvidia for the PhysX drivers and was wondering if the Cuda and Physx are in tha same package at - http://www.nvidia.com/content/forcewith ... wnload.asp

It is such a pain to get a f@h client running, I hate to download other drivers and find out I screwed up and have to try and re-download older drivers to get he f@h working again :?

Mike

Oh, I do have a 8800GT, so I can use the drivers, just want to know if f@h will keep working or not.

you should be good to go... I just switched from 177.35 to 177.83 drivers on my personal system and so far no issues with BSOD's and folding.

Those demos made me nauseous :(

I liked the fluid demo the best! The one with the guy shooting the flags and stuff was NOT polished at all. He would shoot the flag and the bullet must have stopped for lunch before it actually hit the flag..lol

I had to stop folding on the cpu and the gpu for the fluid demo to get smooth! it would be a bit jerky with the cpu still folding, which is kinda wierd since i thought the PhysX were all done by the gpu..??

It still uses the CPU... run GPU folding and check your CPU usage with it running and then paused/off... You'll see that the CPU is indeed being used.

I think you still need a separate gpu/PPU to actually use the physx..I installed the physx demos and thought i did the drivers, but still said i had no PhysX processor..I also noticed on the properties that it gives you options to select with gpu to use for physx..i may have been dreaming though

You can have

NO ACCELERATION
GeForce PhysX
AGEIA PhysX

Those are your options - start->All Programs->Nvidia Corporation->Nvidia PhysX Properties

Mike

It would probably work better with the sperate AGEIA card, but it looks pretty damn nice without it!

Yea, I meant the PhysX stuff - I thought that was all on the GPU. I am hoping they soon get the whole folding program on the GPU like they talked about! That would be sweet.
