After changing to Windows Vista x64 i am unable to get GPu folding to work!!! I have installed and uninstalled it many'a times but even though i have tried different versions and releases of the Nvidia package it just doesnt want to work!!!
Any ideas?

yes i do have the latest drivers installed i have also tried going back on teh Cuda ones and going to the latest ones but still thsi error!

When you install gpu client on Vista (even with XP), I would suggest that you run it from folder where you install it.

When you install gpu client, it would run from C:\USERS\user_name\FAH\.... which might have problem with reboot system (or other issues)
After installed drivers for GPU, don't forget to copy the cudart.dll file from above directory into custom folder that has gpu client installed.


Ex: for XP, when install gpu client, it would have "main files" in C:\Program Files\Folding@home\Folding@home-gpu (A) and .dll files are saved in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application\Folding@home (B). Just copy all files in B into A, then run client from there.

Well, thats fixed that problem, now i just get UNSTABLE_MACHINE

drop shadder a little bit .... (if you ever overclock gpu) or raise MEM by 5-10MB

Thats the thing i was getting this before then i jsut started workin, i havne touched the clocks on the card this is how i got it.

It is odd that it wouldn't tell him that.

When my GPU client expired it wouldn't even load the client, it just told me it was expired.

Now, try to under clock your card to see if it fixes the issue.

No issues with the card and your not running dual monitors on this?

I have never had a problem with this card, No dual monitors, its never thrown up any artifacts. Before when i first went to GPU folding i was getting a similar problem, turned out when my brother borrowed a HD he unplugged the 6 pin connecter, i am positive it is plugged in and check it Just then (as typing this). And then after it was plugged in all was good, now that i have gone o 64Bit vista it doesnt want to work anymore... Argh there goes my ppd i really hope i dont have to RMA the card, because over here when we do it, you send it back to the place you bought it, they take it play around with it if it seems like it is dead they then give it to the maufacturer. Well all and all it would mean i would loose my card and my main rig for about 1 month.
