Legit Folding Team 38296 Breaks Into The Top 100 Teams

Post by Apoptosis »

Late last night we passed up The Genome Collective and clinched the 100th spot! This is a huge milestone and to be honest it seemed out of reach when the folding team was started back in 2004. From just a few members the team has had a couple hundred individuals contribute hundreds of PCs to the Folding program over the years. The boost that pushed the team up into the top 100 was without a doubt due to GPU Folding and for that we have to thank AMD, NVIDIA and Stanford for making GPU folding possible.

Let's keep folding and stay in the top 100! Teams like The genome Collective are adding more graphics cardsto their team as we speak, so we still have to fight in order to stay in the top 100!

This should be a newspost on the main site too :P

Fold on everyone!

Dan

PS. I checked a out a couple of threads on their f@h forum and they only just made it to spot 100 on the 28th sept! Hopefully we can keep the 100th spot longer than they did.

I checked out some of the teams in the top 100 and alot of the teams have their top 20 members folding more than 20K to 30K average. I hope by next year that is what my average will be.

next year? Everyone vote DaIceMan for the core system giveaway and that will be my average next WEEK! :)

Genome's got nothing for us. With the 6 video cards/systems from the kick ass sponsors, we're adding another 27-30k per day. That should help us knock down a few more doors. If you look at the top 100, there are 43 teams that we are gaining on RIGHT NOW. We can realistically pass 9-10 more teams by New Year's at our CURRENT productivity. That's with X down a machine, me down a dual card machine, Darkstar and Dark_Hawk at less than full potential, martini in a rebuild mode not back at full steam, and the 4 core machines not yet up and running. Also, with fall/winter upon us, many of the "fair weather" folders will be back in the mix. We should start to see 200k ppd as an average day, pushing more to the 225-230k ppd range. I think, if we retain the members we have, get everyone back on their feet, add a few more along the way, we can be knocking Top 85, maybe Top 80 by New Year's.
