Check your machines

Hey gang, check your machines to make sure they are working ok, looks like we have a large number of WU's but not the points to back them up. With the updated core giving more points it means that the video card is working harder so if your card was on the limit of being stable you might have to take the clocks down a little.

Looks like the card in my HTPC card is unhappy and has puked on a couple of WU's but nothing too bad.

Looks like mine is throwing wobblies. It's not completely EUE'ing but it doesn't look good (i.e. more WU's than points).

The card is at stock though, so what can i do?

Same kind of situation as mine I guess. I think the limited airflow in my case could be causing the problem, or I may just need to reboot the box as it's been up for a few weeks now and switching between folding and HD video display duties may have caused an issue.
I would try a reboot as a first step, I had some trouble with EUE's last week after I played games and didn't reboot before starting the client back up. Next up, make sure the card is clean and getting good airflow. I suppose last ditch would be downclocking the card...I would think about an RMA at that the point this is able to make things stable. ](*,)

It's a palit card with a custom radial heatsink, and it being a 8600GTS it's getting plenty of air and keeping cool.

I'm really hoping that it's as simple as rebooting.

The card is in a machine at work, and I'm not sure that they'd warrant a repair/replacement on it just bugging out on FAH. :(

I've been unhappy with my folding situation for a while now, every time i leave my machine running 24/7, I don't have the PPD that should come with it. Take for example today, I've been folding since about 10pm last night and EOC only shows 3 WU's turned in. I'm checking my logs and even though I see 2-3 instances of "Run: exception thrown in GuardedRun -- Gromacs cannot continue further", I see at least 5 completed WU's... ugh.

Same here....2540+ iter / sec
Went from 00:01:30 per percentage point to 00:01:24 with new GPU core!
WU time....2:21:37(Last WU)

Although my PPD has fallen but that's because of electricity outage while I was at work yesterday!
Folder was down for several hrs :(

Well since I've upgraded the fah_core11.exe it's failed 6/7 WUs.

Not good going :(

I have rebooted, and fortunately I've got the old core in the recycle bin still, so if it fails one more while I'm watching it, I'm going to throw the old core back in.

Epic fail. my card is barely OCed on the shaders, and i've killed all but 1 WU in the past 5 hours.

from the logs, it looks like I only lost one unit today, so hopefully, the rough seas are behind us.

If anyone has updated and is having their GPU crash out like crazy, then I have the old fah_core11.exe over here for download. Try not to rape my bandwidth guys (so keep the link amongst friends) :finga:

Dan... let me know if the bandwidth gets too crazy, I have a spot I can throw it up with a ton of bandwidth I never use.

That site has got a couple gig's of bandwidth a month, so it should be ok. Just as long as we don't get everybody all over the net downloading it :axe:
