My comp rig is listed in my sig. How can I up my folding? I leave my computer on all day. Mostly during the day, it doesn't get used but i do remotely log into it from work from time to time.

Thanks for the help.

I would say the best bang for the buck all around would be to get a new video card and do GPU folding. I have a couple of 8800GT's that do quite well. 9800GT is the current version of that card.

A little overclock on that card and you shouldn't have any problems busting out 5200-5500 ppd. Plays games very nicely as well.

That didn't take into account the specs in his sig very much did it?
(He's rocking on AGP still)

Unfortunately there aren't any cheap and cheerful folding cards for AGP, so you are limited to running a single console text client (which I suspect you are already doing.

Well that isnt what i wanted to hear. Yes, I am currently running the standard client now and it's going about 24 hrs/day.I dont have the money to upgrade the computer at this time (though i would love to).

one thing i noticed, (actually when posting on the thread about how many processing are active) that my folding only uses 50% and that there is still system idle Process. What gives!?!?! i thought folding was going to take all that? i'm an idiot if i have been cheating myself out of a bunch of points!!

Your CPU has hyperthreading. It isn't actually a whole 'nother core worth of free cycles, but the CPU reports to the system that it is. As the system thinks it has two CPU's loading the real one to 100% will make it think it still has another one spare and hence report only 50% use.

One of the admins over at the folding forum had this to say about hyperthreading:
bruce wrote:Hyper-Threading enabled, a single client -- ignore the 50% reading. In fact, this client is running at full load/speed and your system is lying to you about having a second CPU. Both virtual CPUs have to fight with each other for a share of the single P4 that you really have, so running two clients means you have them running at half speed, just so Windows can report that you're using 100% of both virtual CPUs.
