ACK JakeGub is catching up to me what to do?

I have a system running with hyperthreading off. Would I get any more juice from it if i turned that off and ran two folding clients? It is a P4 2.6. I'm trying to see what I can do to stay ahead and not be left in his dust. I have a few OLD laptops I could press into service, two that are P3 750s and one that is a Celeron 1.8 I think but I'm not sure those would help all that much.

So Hyperthread on or off? Nothing against JakeGub I just want to at least keep my place with the active folders.

Those machines are too old to make any noticeable difference in points, and hyperthreading is a no, as it would just run each client at half speed (maybe slightly better, but again probably not worth the points).

So short of recruiting others to fold under your name, I'm afraid you're a bit stuck.

Bah i figured as much my all 8600gt just is too unstable to fold. It gets about 13%-15% then fails over and over. If though I were to have a new 9600gt from the contest then I might have a better shot at keeping ahead of him =0)

Is the 8600GT stock?

I think it's more stanford's fault with the new core than GPU's being unstable, my 8600GTS at work is stable in everything but the new folding core (it ran fine on the old one).

I have it running stock speeds. I removed the heatsink fan combo, cleaned and made sure that I'm getting good contact on the memory chips, regreased it and got new 3M thermal pads for the memory chips as that damn plate wasn't making good contact with two of the chips. It dropped the operating temp by 8 degrees C. I figured that should improve its stability but it doesn't really seem to have improved it at all for the folding client.
