Going to stop folding for awhile

Post by vbironchef »

Natasha needs some peace and quiet and I think that may corsair hx 1000 is bad. Either that or my GTX280's are bad. Doesn't really matter much, I changed out the power supply and graphic cards. I am now using a pc cooling 750 ps. and my old passive cooled 7950 gc. No folding on this rig anymore. Must say it is very quiet! Both my 150 gb raptors are on their last leg so I should replace them soon. I will be back! Just need to make the wife happy! :) Fold on everyone! :supz:

Just do what I did... build her a rig of her own and sneak a few units out of it when you can. :)

Good luck and hurry back!

I'm trying to get back to the glory days of 20k+, but it's hard right now with the varying units. I keep dropping hints that I need to upgrade, but my wife hasn't bitten just yet.

You could always fold when she's not around, like when you both have work?

Yeah after back to back $300+ electric bills I had to cut my folding down to a minimum so I can gauge how much power the folding machines are using. Turning them off saved me only $30 so I'm going to start back up soon, I just have to get another power supply.

You can always use a long extension core to your neighbor’s house. :supz:

that's not a bad idea....

actually it's funny you say that....a couple weeks ago a guy was at our house working on the power pole in our back yard. He wasn't from the electric company either, he hooked up some orange cord to a box just under the transformer and ran it down the pole, it goes across my backyard sitting on the ground under the fence and through the people's yard behind my house.

I can't figure out what it's for...I thought about pulling it down and off the pole so they have to come back out and I can ask them what the hell they are doing.

Goku... sounds like coax (cable TV). Mediacom down here used orange coax.
