Got a little bit of a pickle here..I just got an Asus 9600GSO($50 on newegg..compared to $70-$80 for the other brands)..and while for PhysX it does the trick, i just can't it to fold with my 285's. is it even possible to fold a pair of 285's with a 9600gso in the same system?..I got all set up to do it , but it keeps going unstable on the one 9600 fold..any ideas or did I just semi-waste $50? lol..if not no biggie..just means if I ever take it out, I better have a small rig to put it in and add more to my points

A friend of mine tried that same thing about 8 months ago, sorry he never found a way to get his 200 series and his 9600's to fold at the same time, he just went and bought 2 more 200 series cards.

I believe it is possible, but you'll have to search around on how to do it as I haven't really been keeping up with multi GPU folding. I believe it's pretty hard to setup, but again, don't take everything I said.

As best I know, the GPU's still have to be similar to one another to fold together in a single system. I tried folding an 8600GTS with an 8800GTS but I couldn't even get that to work. The GPU's shouldn't need to be identical, but they still need to be really similar models/cores for it to work.
