Maybe an Faq thread for noobs like me.
1. The 600/15000 number means 600ppd out of 15000ppd for the "job" ?
2. Can I just shut off one of my two FaH programs...GPU or CPU when I need more power for gaming or do I need to do something special to avoid messing up? What happens if I leave it off for a while?
3. Once I kick start this F@H will it run on auto pilot or do I have to do something for it to move on to the next job?

PPD = Points Per Day

The Stanford Website has a nice FAQ that should answer a lot of questions: http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ

Question 1) 600/15000 = progress of that work unit. 15000 is not the number of points it is worth.

Question 2) I usually do a pause, and then exit. I honestly have had no problems firing the clients back up and them picking up where they left off - unless you wait quite a while before firing the client back up (like a few weeks or more).

Question 3) Once the work unit is complete the client will automatically contact the F@H servers and attempt to transmit the completed work unit. Once the completed work unit has been transmitted it will also download a new work unit and begin folding again.

You can right-click on the icon in your task bar and view the log. It is good to check on it from time to time to make sure you aren't dumping WUs (Work Units) and getting EUEs (End_Unit_Early). This program is pretty sensitive, so if you have system instabilities you will see a lot of EUEs.

If you want to check your progress, then go here, this is also what we're going off of for points with the folding war. http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... s=&t=38296

You can click on "Team User List" in the upper left and scroll until you find your ID. Did you get a custom passkey for yourself? Remember to fill out the team and you user ID for each client. If you are running multiple clients make sure to give each one a unique machine ID. There are a few guides in the folding section that should help you get things setup and optimized.

I have noticed that if I just pause the WU and leave the GPU client running, I can game without stutters. No need to close the client down, just pause it. If you really need the extra power and don't want it running in the background, then close the client.

i just close it, less hassle. also you can't use fullscreen mode if you're actively folding, game or movie, you'd have to be windowed..unless you close F@H
