Like the topic says my second gpu keeps throttling back while folding. It is my xfx gtx260 black edition. It is killing my ppd on that card. Any way to prevent this? It is currently installed in the i7 rig in my sig.

as in slowing down or sitting idle? this is a 2 GPU setup?

Yes it is a 2 gpu set up. the clocks are going from 666 core and 1404 shader to 400/799. rebooting now just installed rivatuner to see if that will help but evga's precision hasn't

do you have the power management option set to "maximum performance" in the nvidia control panel? ( i thought that downclocked the gpu for power conservation but im not sure)...silly to ask, but thats the only thing I can think of that could do that

I don't have the power management in nvidia's control panel. I wonder if thats because I am not running an nvidia chipset

that can't be it..I' don't have an nvidia chipset either..just the 285's...the option came in a previous driver and is now standard i guess

I was going to suggest that it might be your GPU is getting too hot, but it seems you figured it out.

hopefully it is figured out, Yeah I am folding on both my 260's and my 9800's but I won't be able to keep them both up 24/7
