core i7 bigadv is down

Post by KnightRid »

Shut itself off because the processor overheated because the pump wen out AGAIN on the Domino A.L.C. water cooler. :(

Sorry guys, I could put the air cooler back on, but could never OC it and I doubt without OC'ing it would make the deadlines. I might try and put the air cooler back on it tomorrow to see how it does, but it isnt looking good *sigh*

The 2nd Domino failed again?

Just curious what were the avg temps on it?

I'm wondering if the water is so warm that it is causing the pump bearings to fail quicker than on a system that is at idle most the time with no overclock. Let me know if you need me to get another one out. they also have some new models coming out for CES 2010, so I can see if you can be upgraded or something.

Well the Domino reported the temps in the 40C range. I never got above 50C even on low speed! I have the warnings set pretty low in BIOS so if it would have been getting hot the computer would have let me know ;)

I have been reading a LOT of reports of failures on the pumps and a LOT of people get the water leaking out also! I am glad mine has not split open because from people say, CoolIt will not replace any equipment damaged from the water leaking out.

I honestly dont know Nate. I was planning on trying to call them again today I guess, but if they are going to keep failing, whats the use :( I just dont know what to do.

I would love to rip it open and see what is going on, but then they would not replace it because I couldnt send this one back :)
