i was under the impression they're like ~7k, a GTX 285 gets ~8k
sadly its not as linear an improvement between cards folding as it is for gaming

well a GTX 260 is a big upgrade from a 9800GT, its about 2k per day better than a 9800GT, but it really shines in games(should be able to play just about anything on high settings)

I have one that is 666 core 1424 shader and it goes from 5700 PPD on the 1888 files to about 8100 PPD ont the small ones. These are not exact numbers just what I remember seeing.

Did you buy the graphic card yet? Let us know what kind of points you are getting. I feel you just ordered it so it may take a few days.... Keep us updated. I would think your PPD will be around 6500 PPD. Not much more than a GTS 250. Remember my GTX 280 gives me about 7000 PPD. I have been trying to explain that you don't need a high power graphic card to get good points. It's up to you, but I feel you already made your choice. A GTS 250 would be just fine.

No, at least I don't think it will make a difference. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint.

of those three i'd personally get the PALIT, looks to have good cooling, and much higher clocks than the XLR8, that and it's returnable!

Out of the three I would get the PNY. You may want to look at best buy.com They may have what you are looking for close by.

Not a smart thing to say online. Pay your tax. Sleep better. I hate it too. Where I live it's 9.75%.
