SMP Issue

Okay ya crazy maniacal folders!!! Question....I have the GPU client up and running to kick it and take names. LOL. I just downloaded the SMP client to take advantage of the 1055t. Problem is, once the WU downloads, it stalls.
fold.jpg
This is what I get. I'm pretty sure I made all the proper settings when I set it up. Core Temp shows all cores working at 100%, and it reflects a temp that shows its working (35C). HFM.NET and FAHMON show otherwise. The above pic was taken 45 minutes after the WU started....

Any help? Any suggestions? I'm just trying to run a GPU and SMP client at the same time.....

***EDIT: OK, now it just kicked in, and is running. 00:12:03 TPF, with 1631 PPD, and the GPU client says its running, but no frame times...weird. This seem normal????

do you have your passkey in for SMP2 and GPU2?

edit: heres my ppd after 10 A3's (11th+ A3 with 80% completion before deadline = bonus points, i'm on unit #20 and started on aug 15th) on the good unit (67xx work units have terrible ppd)
smp2.jpg
i'm currently at 3750 MHz

card is a GTS 250 - i'm planning to run a 3GHz C2Q on SMP2 and GT240 on GPU2 shortly

Yep, got my passkey on both GPU and SMP. You only have one passkey, right? I got one when I installed the GPU client; is that the same one I iinput for the SMP client?
Maybe I've got something set wrong, cuz I am nowhere NEAR those PPD numbers. I'm on an ATI card, I dunno if that would make a difference...and I just down'ed the SMP client last night, so I am just starting on the CPU. But damn....SLOW!!! HFM is showing an ETA of 1 DAY.....

***EDIT: now it completely hung.....red bar in HFM....

pull up your task manager and post what fahcore_A3.exe is using for resources (should be at least 83%)

and my ppd is so high because of the specific unit and the bonus for completing 10+ A3's

bouncing from 79% to 83%.

stop folding on the 5770, it doesn't put up enough ppd to matter and is just taking a core away from your 1055

is FAH6 SMP2 or GPU2? all my clients come up as [email protected] etc.

and regardless of the hardware you run, GPU3 is bad, and SMP1 is bad (but it seems like you have SMP2)

okee dokee...FAH6 is the SMP2 client...I changed the file name, per the instructions on the website...
on the 5770, I was folding GPU2. I read that the GPU3 was a bad idea, so went with the GPU2.

GPU2 is shut down as I type this, and SMP is un-hung, but still showing no run times.
**EDIT:now running

WOW! THAT was an improvement!!!!! :supz: :supz:

i just noticed, your 1055T is running at 3.4GHz on water? why not go higher?

couldn't get it stable, and BIOS was confusing the hell outta me. NB had 2 different settings, got mismatched RAM timings, and really don't know enough to tweak BIOS effectively... and just aggrevating....LOL...gotta tune up my patience.

ha it happens, i've been considering dropping down 2 or 4 cores and crank the clock up over 4GHz as it would mean better performance in apps i normally run as well as lower temps as it is still really warm during the day (can't wait for the brief time of the fall where i can have my window open all day)

but of course that would take a chunk out of my ppd

another thing: this mobo has, IMHO, inadequate cooling on the chipset. Its got heatsinks, but nothing else. I bought a little 3-speed fan that hooks into a 3-pin, and that helped. It really isn't really enough though. When hitting it hard with OC (i eventually was able to get it to 3.95GHz, but no stability) the NB was too hot to keep my finger on. It was wicked hot!!! :snakeman: I'm really wanting to get a new mobo, one that adequately supports Crossfire, and may hit it again when I upgrade.
