***Updated with the t-shirt design, and added some designs for women, since we have a few on here! so lets have it ladies fold for the cure and get a hot t-shirt or sweatshirt.***
Well in the interest of recruiting new member, finding a cure and because I want to, I'm going to issue a challenge.
If you can get
10 people to fold and keep them folding for 1 mth I will send you a sweatshirt.
If you can fold
10,000 points over a 1 mth period i will send you a T-Shirt based on this design
If you can fold
15,000 points over a 1 mth period i will send you a T-Shirt based on this design, AND I will put your username on it to make it more personal!

wow, this is pretty killer that Yves came up with this idea, designed the logo, and is giving them out to dedicated folders. Let's see if we can't get Yves to send out some T-Shirts!

This is a cool idea, dont think I can get 10, having issues keeping the couple of guys going that I got.
as for the 10,000 points in a month I think I can give that a shot.

Just be careful what you promise. I'm sure a lot of people could easily manage 10k in a month with their system.
Maybe the "first 5" to reach that goal or something?

The best I could do was 5,603 points in 1 month, that was with 2x rigs running!
On average I get ~4000 points when running 24/7 with the rig in my sig!
10,000 points? Yves, are you willing to ship to Ireland?
I can see if I can get my P4 rig back in action, and mayby I can hit 10K....But only If I can get a T-Shirt!!!
I know It's winter, and in Ireland it's COLD, but I'll need to turn off the heating for this challenge....LOL
Great Idea BTW.........(especially getting 10 more people!!)

10k is just a bit more than most single systmes can do, thast why i picked that number. As for the number of people who meet this challenge... well i plan on going for it until i run out of $$.
Ken if you get the points or the people i will ship out of the US.
These things cost me about $50 for a sweatshirt and $35 for a T-Shirt so its a decent prize

i figure it can get some people motivated. I know its going to be hard to hit these goals, thats why its a challenge.

P4 3.6GHz rig up & running
Come on people....get crunching.....let's aim for 2M points by the 31st....
@ least 1.8M points
Current standing...
Rank overall = 210 (can in theory reach 207 by '06)
Total points = 1,634,717
Total work units = 4,549
24Hr Avg =3,753
In June, July and Aug we got between 141,000 & 147,000 points, so this month we should bet getting @ least 200,000!!!!!!

I'm new to this so my questions might seem stupid:
- after downloading and installing the graphical interface I still don't have the screensaver part

I thought it would be included but it isn't and couldn't find any separate download for it or any info on stanfords page
- my name doesn't appear on the team statistics page. did I do something wrong when installing?
http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main ... mnum=38296
unfortunatelly I don't have 2,3 or more PC's like other members just one but mine is allways on 24/7 so maybe I can contribute after all
thanks for any help.

When it's installed, you should have a Folding@home Icon in the taskbar!
R-click it, goto configure, Enter sbohdan for your name and 38296 for team number...Then click ok
Then d-click the icon, it will show you it's working and on the left it will show details of the work unit your currently folding.....
A work unit can take anywhere from 4hrs to 2days to complete......~4hrs or so after you complete a work unit, it wil show up in the stats page
I never use screensavers! I just leave the client running in the taskbar, and turn off my monitor when I'm not using the PC.......(saves my screen

)
Remember that if you want to play any games, you will need to close the FAH client, otherwise no 3d apps load.......
Also you can also run FAH as a service in windows, so it's always running no matter what.....I wouldn't do this on a single core chip as performance will be degraded in games etc. (great for anyone with dual core tough)
(I'll only have 1 rig going 24/7 too, Just on weekends and overnight during the week i'll add my p4 rig....)

thanks ken. actually I did configure it right I guess because its doing the job.
when I D click it shows 660/1300 frames done so far. so it will show in stats once the work is done. I see.
also it runs in the taskbar constantly and I'm still able to play NFS MW on the same settings as before (1280x1024 all settings full

)
maybe because my CPU has hyper threading
so I will run it 24/7 since it doesn't seem to hinder anything I do on the rig so far. thanks for the help.

No problem, FAH runs with IDLE priority
You should see "WU End:" on the left too....
