Budding fold farm

Post by werewolfdaddy »

I now have 6 computers folding 24/7.

They are as follows:

AMD 64 3000 w/ 2 gigs of memory on xp pro
AMD 64 3000 w/ 2 gigs of memory on xp pro
P4 2.4 w/ 533 fsb and 1gig of memory on xp pro
P4 1.8 w/400 fsb and 512 megs of memory on xp home
P3 933 w/ 1 gig memory on xp pro
P3 866 w/ 768 megs. on puppy os 1.08

I have a 5 port giga switch and a 16 port 10/100 switch plugged into a 4 port linksys wireless router.

The 16 port switch is in my bedroom with a 50 ft cable run under the house to the router on the other side.

I know it's not the most impressive farm our team has, but I feel a small measure of pride knowing I'm doing my part to help fold.

Money is tight around here lately. After having a new drainage line run, our hvac just went south too. In the last year, we've had the roof replaced, new drainage line put in and now we'll probably have to put in a new hvac or at least a compressor. Owning a house can be such a heartbreak sometimes.

However, if I'd be happy to become nuts over dual xeons if you wanted to send one down my way. ;)

Been a few changes lately on the folding farm. Lost a few and borrowing a few from friends.

AMD 64 3400 with 1gig memory on xp pro
AMD 64 3000 with 2 gigs of ram
AMD 64 3000 with 2 gigs of ram
P4 2.8 gig with 1 gig
P4 2.4 gig with 1 gig
P3 866 with 512 megs. Big switch went down and is in the trash and is temporarily being replaced by an 8 port 10/100, but next week it will be replaced by 10/100/1000 dlink switch. Woohoo.
