Honestly, there is no reason why you'd have to cut it down to 50-60%. It is low priority on your pc, so even if you're running at 100%, you can't tell it's there! I run 100% all the time!NAiLs wrote:Just started!
100% for a few hours this afternoon while I'm not home and later chop it down to 50-60% when I'm using my PC. Of course it'll be off when I play the World of Warcraft stress test.
I started yesterday afternoon with my 3.6GHz CPU and I've been running 100%, but I also have HT, so it's 50%. I even forfit my sleep last night for finding a cure for diseases
I left my computer on all night and it kept waking me up every 20 minutes or so. I honestly probably got 2 hours of sleep last night, but I made it through the school day and now I'm home free for the weekend...
See I had my W/C system set on the quietest setting, because on the second setting it starts speeding up at about 97F, what I didn't realise is that on the first setting, it speeds up at 110F or something, so every 20 minutes it would turn on again full blast and my mom could hear it with my door closed. It really sucked, but I ran it all day today also, so I'm almost 1/2 done with a work unit.

thats actually not true, alot of games won't run while you have it jacked up to 100%, though you can stil web surf and do basics. even on my system 100% crashes Far Cry and Doom 3Honestly, there is no reason why you'd have to cut it down to 50-60%. I haven't started folding for you all yet............
But here's what I have for 2 of the teams I fold with.
Donator sbrehm72255
Team Overclockers Club (12772)
Score 6003 (certificate)
Donator Rank 33489 of 369240
WU 112 (certificate)
Donator BBC/Death
Team BCC (33009)
Score 12238 (certificate)
Donator Rank 17402 of 369240
WU 290 (certificate)
If everything is configured right you can fold and game all at the same time...............
At least with UT2003 and 2004. When I was folding full time I had folding running on 3 systems 24/7 and I never had a problem running anything. But I'm not real sure about some of the other games and what not.........I'm just sort of a folding newb.............

Awesome! Thanks for your help - I've noticed that you are climbing right up the ladder! Although, I'm sad that I don't have anyone to compete with since I get Illuminati's leftovers when it comes to computersinfinitevalence wrote:Now folding:
Main Rig: 2.2ghz amd ( had to lower the oc because it was getting to hot)
*nix box: 866 p3
dev box: 750 amd
laptop : 750 p3
mac g3: 233 g3
and at work:
fax serv: 1.8ghz p4
work sys: 1ghz p4

Also . . . if you go into the configure menu, you can configure it to allow 5mb+ and then a lot of your folds will be worth more points -- I'd like to see you pass up Apop in a hurry! Show him what you're made of!

I agree! Besides, everyone loves competition! I'd like to see us pass up [H]ardOCP!!! They are in 2nd place, I think! We are, however, already in the top 9%! Great job, everyone! Keep up the folding, and encourage other members to join in!eric m. wrote: i don't see any reason not to participate in this project.

Well im going to have to edit my list as my 233 is just to slow to make a real dent, the 750 amd keeps rebooting after a little while at 100% and the laptop only gets light duty for folding. But the good news is that im getting two more 866 p3's one to replace the 750 and one to replace the g3. I also am still working on my boss to get it on our servers as that would add 4 more cpus. and i have a friend who is in charge of a computer lab at shcool and might beable to get F@H running on all the lab computers. i dont know if we can beat HardOCP as they have a huge head start but i know i will do my best to help.
