i just noticed one of my systems has WU's in a queue, periodically i see that it is trying to connect to the work server but cannot. I can ping the IP of the server and the Stanford Server page shows it as up and accepting. No problems browsing the internet, etc. Has anyone seen this before? any suggestions? Its an XP box running the SMP Client.

try reaching that IP from a browser use the ip address followed by :80 example http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80

You should see a blank with screen with an OK in one of the upper corners. If not you need to see if port 80 is blocked on that system so try it from the problems system.

Yes, i was able to connect OK , forgot to mention that. I have seen some posts that IE7 might be responsible for that. However i have set a bunch of systems lately and dont remember telling SMP to use the IE settings, how would i change that setting in SMP without losing all the points? (re install)
can i edit the user cfg file? (sorry if this is basic stuff to you guys, I havent even been folding a month yet)

Sorry I don't do the Win SMP thing but you might try looking over here > http://forum.folding-community.org/forums.html There is a forum section on the WIN SMP Client and they are usually pretty helpful

Thanks, joined that earlier..was just hoping one of the more experienced folders would know how to change the settings from the command line or through the client.cfg file...

oh, and by the way shadco, thanks for knocking me out of the top 30 within 24 hours of getting there

well, simple solution in case anyone else runs into something like this. Just uninstall IE7 and reboot :) ( ehh, dont use it anyway) says says it successfully uploaded the Units (about 5,000) but looks like the stat server is down till 3 PM.....
